🐾 Exclusive Blues Cattery

Thank you for visiting Exclusive Blues, our TICA and CFA registered Russian Blue cattery in Upstate New York.

We are a small, family-operated cattery dedicated to raising beautiful, healthy, affectionate, and well-socialized Russian Blue kittens.

Our passion for this extraordinary breed began with its elegance, intelligence, gentle temperament, and remarkable devotion to its human companions.

At Exclusive Blues, responsible breeding, feline health, and the well-being of every kitten are at the heart of everything we do.

• Registered & Ethical – We are proudly registered with The International Cat Association (TICA) and the Cat Fanciers’ Association (CFA).

• Health & Temperament First – Our breeding decisions prioritize health, temperament, and the preservation of the Russian Blue breed standard.

• Beautiful, Well-Socialized Kittens  – Our kittens are raised with individual attention and care to help them develop into confident, affectionate companions.

• Responsible Breeding - We are committed to preserving the distinctive qualities that make the Russian Blue such an exceptional breed.

• Personalized Kitten Placement – We carefully consider each family’s lifestyle, expectations, and preferences to help match our kittens with suitable, loving homes.

Elegant, refined, and sensitive, Russian Blues are true companions.
They thrive in quiet homes, adapt to routine, and bond deeply with their humans. Each cat has a unique personality—regardless of gender.

We offer:

• Carefully placed kittens to indoor-only homes

• Matching guidance based on your lifestyle and preferences

• Occasional availability of older cats

Please Note: Our kittens are in high demand and may require joining a waiting list.

Unfortunately, some individuals pose as Russian Blue breeders with the sole intention of taking your money — and you will not receive a kitten.

🚫 Never send gift cards as partial or full payment. No reputable breeder will ever request this.

Common signs of a scam:

• Kittens are always “available” (no waitlist, no questions asked)

•  Suspiciously low or “too good to be true” pricing

• The seller avoids phone calls or won’t speak with you directly

• Claims to breed and sell multiple cat breeds at once

In recent years, some individuals have taken advantage of the growing popularity of Russian Blues by offering “pre-sales” or quick sales of kittens sourced in bulk from high-volume breeders overseas—particularly in Eastern Europe.

While these may actually be Russian Blues, they are not going to look like the RB’s we breed here and are shipped here much too young. It’s like a “kitten mill”, just in a different country. Registration papers are suspect, and health of the kitten is hit or miss. Please avoid these.

🤝 Work with Reputable Breeders

We want to be clear: there are good Russian Blue breeders in Europe. But if you’re working with someone in the U.S., be sure you're not dealing with a middleman or reseller.

We often hear the claim that Russian Blues are hypoallergenic, but we believe it's important to set realistic expectations.

❌ No Cat is Truly Hypoallergenic

While Russian Blues are often better tolerated by some allergy sufferers, no breed is 100% non-allergenic. The idea of a completely hypoallergenic cat is a myth.

✔️ Why Russian Blues May Be Easier for Some

• They may produce lower levels of the allergenic protein (Fel d 1)

• Their short, dense coat sheds less dander into the environment

• They are fastidious groomers, which can help reduce allergens in the home

⚠️ But… Everyone Reacts Differently

Allergies are highly individual. Some people report no symptoms around our Russian Blues, while others still react. Even within the same breed, responses can vary from cat to cat.

We know allergy concerns are important, and we’re happy to talk with you honestly about your situation. Just keep in mind—we can’t guarantee an allergy-free experience.
