Welcome to
Exclusive Blue
the cattery of Russian Blues!
Thank you for taking your time to visit our website!
We are a TICA registered cattery located in Upstate New York.
We fell in love with this beautiful breed, just like you!
Now we have the joy of sharing our love with you! We have placed health, temperament, and breed standard as the highest priorities while building our breeding program.
We require that you provide a permanent, indoor-only home for your pet.
We will help you select a kitten based on gender preferences as well as your particular circumstances (schedule, other pets, small children). Although some Russian Blue breeders will tell you that the males are more affectionate, we believe personalities depends on the individual kitten. Russians Blues tend to like quiet surroundings and a regular schedule. They are very affectionate with people that they know; however, they usually take time to warm up to strangers.
Occasionally we have older cats that we want to place. At the present time we don’t have any, but we may have one in the next several months.
SCAMS
Unfortunately, we have heard of scams concerning people who represent themselves as having Russian Blue kittens when in fact they aren’t breeders at all and just want you to send them money.
You should NEVER send gift cards as partial or full payment for a kitten. Reputable breeders have a history that you can find with a little research. Scammers steal pictures from breeder’s websites and often the same scammer can be found by searching on multiple breeds. They almost always have kittens available; prices seem fairly reasonable and generally, they don’t have any pedigree or registration information available (or if they do, it’s faked). They will take your money and you will not get a kitten.
Most reputable breeders have a waiting list, and their kittens are always registered with TICA.

BROKERS
Also unfortunately, there are people who have jumped on the popularity of Russian Blues and other breeds who offer sales or ‘pre-sales’ of kittens that they buy in batches from commercial, high-volume breeders in Eastern Europe and resell them here. While these may actually be Russian Blues, they are not going to look like the RB’s we breed here and are shipped here much too young. It’s like a “kitten mill”, just in a different country. Registration papers are suspect, and health of the kitten is hit or miss. Please avoid these. This is not to say there are no good breeders of Russian Blues in Europe…there are. Just be wary and make sure you are dealing directly with a reputable breeder, and not a middle man.
As for your allergies
The story that Russian Blues are a special type of cat that people who suffer from allergies are better suited to has surfaced repeatedly. Although some people are more allergic to some breeds of cats than others, it is our belief that no breed of cat is completely 100% non-allergic.
Russian Blues typically cause less of an allergic reaction than other breeds, but they are not hypoallergenic. There is no such thing as a hypoallergenic cat.
Different people react differently to different breeds, and even different cats within the same breed.
We have some friends who are allergic to cats, but they have not had reactions to our Blues, but no one can guarantee that you will not have a reaction.
Here’s a link to a good article on this subject.

The Russian Blue cat is a synonym for elegance and delicate taste. It combines grace and luxury, homeliness and naturalness. The Russian Blue is both classic and modern. See her only once and you will become a fan of the breed for life.
Living side by side with a Russian Blue, you will quickly realize that this is an ideal partner and a true friend. She subtly feels what you need and when you need time to be alone. She is cheerful and playful, gentle and friendly, and thoughtful and quiet.
We hope to have you a part of our Russian Blue family!

We will have kittens available towards the end of 2024.
Now you have a decision to make. Do I ignore them? Do I send them to their room? Or should I get them one?
If you decided to adopt the Russian blue kitten, you have to be very careful.
How to properly and efficiently teach your cat to use the litter box.
We are often asked the question: "Is it necessary to sterilize a cat? Will it harm her health?"
Due to their age and lack of experience, kittens are much more curious than adult cats.
